OUR STORY

Owned and operated by the Williamson’s. Eve and Jon both have a passion for the outdoors both originally from south London the have lived in Wales for the last 20 years. Jon has kayaked since he was a child and has explored many of Wales finest rivers over the years and spent many days in the hills across Snowdonia. Eve moved to Bangor to study Marine Biology and discovered kayaking. She completed her degree and spent many years teaching outdoor activities, before pursuing a PGCE in Science and Outdoor Activities.

Now with two small children they are enjoying introducing them to all the opportunities that growing up in North Wales has to offer including climbing, kayaking, biking and playing in the hills. The Williamsons’ live next door to Lon Dryll Outdoors and Eve works out of the office on site so they are regularly on hand if you need pointing in the direction of the best ice cream or other important information.

History of Lon Dryll

Lon Dryll Outdoors is three former quarrymen’s cottages first built around the middle of the 1800s. Lon Dryll translates to ‘shotgun’ or ‘blast’ lane, most likely the blasting was associated with the small quarry opposite the top of lane and is pronounced ‘drick’.
