Lon Dryll Outdoors Snowdonia

Welcome to Lon Dryll Outdoors, group accommodation providers.

Lon Dryll Outdoors, accommodation for your adventure. Situated just outside Deiniolen the former slate mining village at the foot of Elidir Fawr. The UNESCO world heritage site of the Slate Landscape of North West Wales has two sites just a short drive outside the village. We have breath taking views across to Moel Elio and Elidir Fawr and on a clear day Caernarfon bay can be clearly seen stretching across to Holyhead Mountain and occasionally the Wicklow Mountains.

Lon Dryll Outdoors is based at Strata house and was formerly known as Dryll, originally built around the 1820’s as three quarry cottages for men working in the local quarries and their families. Dryll in Welsh means gun or blast and the name is likely to be linked to the small quarry situated opposite the top of the lane. Over the years Dryll was adapted and developed and has been used as a hostel and bunk house or outdoor centre in one form or another since the 1970’s.

Today we hope to welcome you to comfortable three family rooms in the main house with further four bunk style rooms in the bunk house sleeping up to 30 people. Perfect for large groups of friends or family exploring the beautiful, mountains, rivers, lakes and sea of North Wales. The site is also ideal base for running groups on outdoor courses with plenty of space for planning activities, theory sessions and debriefing groups at the end of the day.
